Imagine moving to a new country, learning a whole new language and finding out the hard way
that a word does NOT mean what you thought it meant.
In the Episode, “An Immigrant Tale”, Sasha shares what it was like growing up after moving
from Russia to America. An ordinary school bus ride turns into a serious confrontation after an
exchange between her and an older student got completely lost in translation.
What happened next turned a painful misunderstanding into a teaching moment about listening,
asking questions and recognizing our own biases before creating a story about someone we don’t
actually know. All Music and Lyrics in this episode by your hosts, James Harrell and Ilyana Kadushin.
